Paul is a leading sustainability professional with over 25 years of experience across the UK, Europe, the US, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. He has a unique expertise in both Environmental Sustainable Design (ESD) for projects and broader Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategies for organisations.
Throughout his career, Paul has been a key player in pioneering projects and initiatives that have redefined industry standards. He worked on The Bond in Sydney, the first Green Star-rated project in Australia, and developed the groundbreaking “This Changes Everything” strategy for Mirvac in 2013. This initiative was the first of its kind to set net-positive energy and water goals and a zero-waste-to-landfill target. Paul has built several businesses over his career including Mirvac energy, Hoist a co-working business and a new Global ESG service line at TSA Riley. His professional journey includes working with renowned companies such as Arup, Lend Lease, Hammerson, Mirvac, and TSA Riley.
Beyond individual projects, Paul has been a leader in industry collaboration. He was a founding member and later Chair of the Better Building Partnership in both London and Sydney, where he helped transform how businesses and government work together to solve complex problems. He has also represented the industry on numerous committees, including BCO, BCSC, BPF, and PCA.

He has over nine years’ experience with large-scale dynamic energy, thermal comfort, daylight/glare, and shading modelling to optimise building design and improve outcomes for NCC, town planning, Green Star, and NABERS benchmarking across all sectors. Serkan specialises in data-driven design through parametric modelling, applicable at both the building level and precinct/master plan level.
